Harare is set to host the inaugural “The Rise Up” Ladies Conference next month, an initiative aimed at empowering Zimbabwean women at grassroots level financially and enhance their financial literacy.

Scheduled for June 07, 2025 at Eight2Five Innovation Hub, Three Anchor House, Jason Moyo Ave in Harare, the conference anticipates welcoming about 300 women, including young professionals, entrepreneurs, informal traders, and mothers.

The Rise Up Conference targets women from Harare and surrounding areas, especially those in informal businesses, Small to medium Enterprises (SMEs), church groups, and community cooperatives. It also extends an invitation to Zimbabwean women in the diaspora seeking local investment opportunities and men interested in supporting the financial empowerment of women in their lives, who can join via an online platform.

This conference seeks to address the critical need for enhanced financial literacy and provide access to formal financial services and sustainable wealth-building strategies among women in Zimbabwe.

Despite their significant economic contributions and accounting for 53 percent of the Zimbabwe’s population, many women still remain excluded from the formal financial system, leaving them susceptible to black market dealings, debt traps, and inadequate long-term financial planning.

“This conference was inspired by my own journey—navigating life after marriage, financial pressures, and the longing for practical guidance. It’s for the unemployed, the single mothers, the young graduates without direction, and those who’ve silently given up,” said Tinaishe Chikwature Mutume, founder and host of the Rise Up Conference.

“We are building a platform of hope, wisdom, and action,” she added.

The conference which will run under the theme “Road to My Financial Freedom” aims to be a transformative platform for learning, networking, and inspiring women to take control of their financial destinies.

Key objectives include boosting financial literacy and investment knowledge, exposing attendees to legal and regulated financial products, inspiring disciplined money habits, and connecting women with institutions offering financial solutions.

“A crucial goal is to build a generation of financially empowered women who boldly pursue purpose, create wealth, and lead impactful lives rooted in faith, knowledge, and resilience,” said Mrs Mutume.

The conference will discuss and equip women with practical tools on faith and finances, business formalization, stock market investing, work-life balance, and diaspora wealth-building through expert talks, real-life stories, and interactive engagement.

The speaker lineup features notable figures such as Advocate Arthur Marara, Mrs Farai Mpofu from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe who will tackle investments, Mr Simba Nyamadzawo on business formalisation, and Pastor D Chirisa who will address work-life balance.

The conference will also have exhibition desks for stakeholders in the financial services sector.
