The death toll from starvation resulting from the recent Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip has risen to 57, this publication has been informed.

According to the Ambassador of Palestine to Zimbabwe, Tamer Almassri, Israeli authorities have closed crossings with the Gaza Strip since March 02, blocking the entry of food, medical aid, and other necessities.

This blockade has caused a significant deterioration in the well-being of Palestinians.

“Approximately 2.1 million people in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe water crisis, with nearly 70 percent of the Strip’s water infrastructure having been systematically destroyed as a result of the Israeli military’s actions,” Almassri told this publication.

He highlighted that more than 66,000 children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from severe malnutrition due to what he described as Israel’s starvation policy, which has been ongoing for the past two months.

Since October 2023, the death toll in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has risen to over 52,000, the majority of whom are children and women, with above 118,000 people injured, according to Almassri.
