The European Union has announced the return of the European Film Festival Zimbabwe, set to take place from October 10 to 28 in Harare, Kadoma, Gweru, and Bulawayo.
This year’s festival prioritises Zimbabwean storytelling, featuring a selection of 10 local short films alongside 27 European and African films.
According to festival curator Roberta Wagner:
“Movies serve as a universal language, breaking boundaries and uniting people through shared stories.
“This year’s festival celebrates not only European cinema but also African and Zimbabwean storytelling.”
The festival’s theme, “Beyond Boundaries: Empowering Women Through Film,” reflects the EU’s commitment to promoting gender equality through the arts.
Admission to the festival is free and open to the public.
With its expanded reach to two new cities, the event promises to engage audiences with powerful narratives, workshops, and discussions on women’s roles in the film industry.
