The death toll of Palestinian journalists killed by Israeli military has surpassed 210 as Israeli continues its attacks on Palestine, according to Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Zimbabwe, Tamer Almassri.
This comes at a time when, recently, two journalists, Helmi Al-Faqaawi and Yousef al-Khazinda were brutally murdered whilst another one, Ahmed Mansour was burnt alive by an Israeli missile that targeted a journalists’ tent at Nasser Hospital in Gaza.
Almassri has strongly condemned the continued attacks on Palestinian journalists by the Israeli military calling it a blatant attempt by Israel to silence the media so that the world could not witness the scale of Israel crimes against Palestinian people.
“This is a blatant attempt to enforce a complete media blackout, preventing the world from witnessing the scale and brutality of Israel’s genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people,” he said in a statement.
Almassri alluded that Israel’s continued atrocities on Palestine are also stimulated by the deafening silence and inaction by the international community.
“The State of Palestine has made desperate calls for help, but the world has remained silent on the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
International laws and agreements designed to protect human rights have become meaningless in the face of ongoing crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,” he continued.
He called for the international community to not turn a blind eye to Israel’s attacks that continue to strip away fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
