It never rains but pours for Zanu PF cleric Obadiah Musindo after duping scores of home seekers in Mutare by selling nonexistent stands in the eastern border city.

Msindo and his team opened a makeshift office in Mutare early this year  where they promised unspectacting home seekers stands.

Tempers flared this week after scores of home seekers stormed the offices demanding stand numbers.

The home seekers including the disabled and the elderly demanded pegging plan but to no avail.

Investigations by this publication showed that there are no stands.

Msindo and his crew have seen closed the offices and vanished into thin air.

Some have lost large sums ranging from US$5000 to US$2000.

“The home seekers demanded their money back but to no avail, there was chaos, police was called and Gerald Mabika a senior official at the office disappeared

“It’s a fraud, more than 100 people have been duped, the home seekers have since found out they have been sold a dummy,” said the source.

“The home seekers were told the stand numbers would have availed after three months but they were kept given excuses and this is when they started suspecting, “added the source.

“There are no stands in Mutare, it’s a scandal, “said another source.

Reports in Mutare yesterday said the home seekers are set to file a police report.

Early this year Musindo narrowly escaped an attack by a group of women at Rainbow towers claiming they had defrauded them.

Musindo was manhandled before security teams the hotel came to his rescue.
